Legends of the Mountains

Ali Sadpara: The Shepherd Who Touched the Sky

Born in a small village in Skardu, Muhammad Ali Sadpara grew up among the giants. As a child, he herded goats beneath the shadow of Nanga Parbat, never imagining that one day he would stand on its summit in the dead of winter — the first Pakistani ever to do so.

His feet carried him up eight of the world's fourteen highest peaks. He rescued stranded climbers on K2 when others turned back. He carried the dreams of a nation on his shoulders, proving that the mountains of Pakistan breed not just climbers — but legends.

"Mountains are not for everyone. But for those who dare to dream, they offer a chance to touch the infinite." — Muhammad Ali Sadpara (1976–2021)

His spirit lingers on every ridge of K2, reminding us that the greatest adventures are born from the humblest beginnings.

The mountains are not stadiums where I satisfy my ambition to achieve. They are the cathedrals where I practice my religion.
